Living in a retro bubble on the Italian riviera: Benedetta releases a ’70s glam swimwear collection for a late summer getaway
Work and pleasure have taken Lina Benedetti, creative director of Benedetta across the world and back to her home town of Cartegena, Colombia. In her newest collection, Living in a Bubble, Benedetti showcases delicate handmade deigns and ’70s retro glam, incorporating influences from her time in Italy and her hometown, Colombian roots.
With the allure of a gathering with your most intimate, close friends in a petit comité, Benedetti brings a collection wrapped in glittering gold and rich textures that are designed to bring women around the world the intimacy, and confidence and secluded feel of an Italian getaway. No matter where your adventures take you, each suit is designed to instil confidence, enhance femininity and bring every Benedetta woman the perfect fit.
Committed to making the waters and lands where Benedetta suits take you a bit better along the way, Benedetta is a proudly sustainable fashion brand. Benedetta is committed to help protect our oceans, which is why 80 per cent of production includes high-quality fabrics made from Econyl, a fibre made of recycled plastics, including synthetic waste, industrial plastic and waste found in the ocean, such as plastic bottles and fishnets. As Benedetta does not use any prints or additional dyes, production is 100 per cent water-free and chemical-free and uses no animal-derived products. Additionally, each bikini comes in a sustainable vinyl pouch meant to last and designed to keep your bikinis wet or dry no matter your travels.
Releasing in a series of drops, Living in a Bubble first welcomes the Super Star sets, which are handmade in top-quality Italian Lycra and feature Benedetta’s iconic stitching. All styles are lightweight and fully reversible and will be part of Benedetta’s core collection through 2023. The Super Star collection includes the Brixton Tie Star bikini, Fruit Tri Star bikini, Cala Tie Up bikini, Bagatelle Tie Star bikini set, Cinque Tie Star bikini, and Ma Wow Tri Star set.
All styles are now available online and ship internationally.
In the summer of 2016, Benedetta was created in the beach town of Cartagena, Colombia, by creative director Lina Benedetti. The sustainable brand is a reflection of the designer’s lifestyle, a cross between luxury, chic apparel and influences from world travels, revealing a collection of experiences lived in far-off lands, honoring Colombian roots and offering premium handcrafts that enhance confidence. Benedetta has redefined the code of swimwear-making, developing a unique manufacturing technique with the artistry outcome of fine craftsmanship. All suits are handmade by women who are the head of household in small, independent shops across Colombia, with the brand committed to growing financial and professional opportunities within their developing country. Benedetta is the real handmade.
