Sandals fit for the gods: Laiik revives ancient Greek tradition

Laiik is a Greek-made footwear company created to revive the classic Greek style by way of contemporary flats, boots and sneakers, created by three American–Greek siblings who had travelled all over the world. A trip to Greece was the brand’s creative catalyst. Influenced by the quality of the shoes, they knew that it was time to revamp the iconic Greek sandal with more pizzazz to usher in a modern era of Greek-inspired style.
       Laiik was carefully created in a family-owned and operated factory of traditional artisans and craftsmen employing centuries-old techniques. Both the sandals and shoes are handmade with vegetable-tanned leather sourced from Tuscany, which is also biodegradable. All shoes are built for comfort with a flexible outer sole for long-lasting durability.
       Laiik’s name was derived from the word λαϊκό meaning ‘of the people’. This name was thoughtfully chosen because Laiik seeks to rekindle the connections between consumers and producers, creating close relationships with both the artisans in Greece and the selection of suppliers to ensure the most ethical and environmental standards are upheld.
